since he was on the "club" team he couldn't defend his title or race in any UCI-sanctioned events or races which require you to be a member of a UCI trade team, such as the USA Cycling Pro Championships and the others on the 13-event USA Cycling Professional Tour.

I laughed when I read that heading of that story at the top of the home page.

There is something to be said for Michael Ball putting his money out there and helping to promote cycling in the States, but in my cynicism I always wonder if that's what his true intentions are...purely altruistic attempts at promoting cycling. Heck, look at the price of their gear/kits.

While I'm sure I'm not pointing out news, but what big-named/high-profiled rider on that team does not have a checkered past and/or a perpetual cloud of suspicion over their heads? The only guy I can think of is Bahati. I wonder what is the motivating factor for him to be a part of the team/remain on it?

Perhaps Dominguez pondered the same and that's why we're reading the news that was reported today.

Would it not be "breach of contract" to dump all those guys on the club team?

The picks seem a little suspect....I mean, Bahati and Creed on the club team vs. Magnell? Nothing against Magnell, but both Creed and Bahati (and others on the list) seem a bit more versatile.

cyclingnews reports he is in talks with Fuji-Servetto. good for him. funny that the velonews article says they couldn't get a hold of him for comment, but cyclingnews says they did but he wouldn't fully comment yet.

WIth Magnell, it's all about reaching the UCI's age requirment. Magnell is still under 27 while Bahati and Creed are not

I'm sure most of those "who" guys are young and are needed on the team to bring the average age down to UCI legal standards.

It's an age thing....they have to many older guy's and needed young ones on the UCI squad...Ivan just wants to race races he can't on Rock...makes sense to move on.

Here is some help on understanding Rock's and Ivan relationship and why he decided to go.

1. No signed contract.
2. Too old (would not be raced in Europe because of age requirements)
3. Never raced in Europe
4. Rock is disorganized and slow to react

For Ivan, going to Fuji is a great opportunity that would probably would not be their for him at Rock. Fuji will force Ivan to ride and train to stay competitive, where in the US he is able to party like a Rock star and still be able to pull off a win every now and then.

Dominguez moving to a European team is great news for him. You can tell by the news quotes that he is super excited by the opportunity. I bet he is super relieved he never signed a contract with Rock.
